OARS

(Opiate Addiction Recovery Services Program)

The OARS Program is Level IV Outpatient program that provides Medication for Opioid use Disorder (MOUD). Patients are prescribed methadone treatment to adults who meet the criteria for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). Patients entering the program must meet the standards set forth by the UT Health BeWell Institute on Substance Use and Related Disorders, Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) / Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), Priority population guidelines are adhered to assessing program admission. Patients are prescribed methadone therapy and monitored by a licensed medical doctor. Services include daily dispensing of therapeutic levels of methadone (Mon-Sat), individual counseling, group counseling, random urinalysis, physical examinations and lab work. Ancillary services are provided in the form of referrals. The OARS MOUD Program serves the Coastal Bend area. The OARS MOUD Program offers a UT Health BeWell Institute funded program, Medicaid, Federal, and a Self-Pay program. The OARS Program is a CARF accredited program.

OBOT Program

(Office Based Opioid Treatment)

The OBOT aims to provide effective treatment for opioid use disorders (OUD) in an outpatient setting. OBOT is designed to expand access to the treatment needed by offering medication assisted treatment (MAT).
Patients are prescribed Suboxone therapy and monitored by a licensed medical doctor. Services include daily dispensing of therapeutic levels of Suboxone (Mon-Sat), individual counseling, group counseling, random urinalysis, physical examinations and lab work. Ancillary services are provided in the form of referrals.

SAIL

(Substance Abusers Inviting Life Program)

The SAIL Program is an out-patient treatment program serving adults who use or abuse alcohol or other drugs. Services include screening, assessment, group and individual counseling, with an established protocol necessary for successful program completion. Family counseling is also offered as needed. Counseling services are provided in the form of education, relapse prevention, life skills and an introduction to Twelve Step Recovery. The SAIL Program offers services at both the STSARS Corpus Christi office and the STSARS Robstown office. The SAIL program offers a Department of State Health Services (DSHS)-funded program and a Medicaid-funded program.

SPECIALIZED FEMALE

The Specialized Female Program is a curriculum-based outpatient program, serving women with dependent children (including women whose children are in custody of the state) and pregnant women. The program is geared toward providing trauma-informed and gender-specific outpatient treatment services and case management services that facilitate recovery from substance abuse and dependence. Services include screening, assessment, group, individual counseling and family counseling. Counseling services are provided in the form of education, relapse prevention, and life skills. The Specialized Female Program will serve the following counties: Aransas, Jim Wells, Kleberg, and Nueces. The Specialized Female Program offers a Department of State Health Services (DSHS)-funded program and a Medicaid-funded program.

PROJECT TRATRAMIENTO

TRATAMIENTO is a SAMHSA funded program that is designed to expand Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment and related recovery and reentry services to sentenced adults in the criminal justice system with a SUD and/or co-occurring substance use and mental disorders, who are returning to their families and community following a period of incarceration in state and local facilities including prisons, jails, or detention centers. TRATAMIENTO will provide appropriate harm reduction, outpatient treatment, and recovery support services. Services provided include screening, assessment, treatment planning, individual counseling, group counseling, Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), education, overdose prevention, and case management.

PROJECT BIENESTAR

Project Bienestar is a client centered program for adult men and women who meet the following criteria:

  • Substance Abuse Disorders
  • Co-Existing Behavioral Health Disorders
  • Living With HIV
  • High Risk for HIV and Hepatitis Conditions

Project Bienestar will provide Outpatient Counseling, Case Management, Free Confidential Testing, Medication Assisted Treatment for Opioid Addiction, Project Self-Help in eliminating Life-Threatening Diseases (SHIELD), as well as, recovery support services.

VIDA BUENA Program

The Vida Buena Program is involved with the OARS Outpatient Program and offers 6 months of funding for adults seeking Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and who meet the criteria for Opioid Use Disorder. Vida Buena is an addition to the OARS program to expand and enhance access to MAT services for persons with an Opioid Use Disorder. Clients involved with the Vida Buena Program will receive Recovery Support Services, in addition to the OARS Services, to offer more support and aid in a better treatment outcome. Funding will cover both the Methadone and Suboxone medication prescribed by our Medical Director. Services include daily dosing of medication, screening, assessment, treatment planning, individual counseling, monthly random urinalysis, overdose prevention, recovery support services, case management, lab work and physical examination at admission.
